Evaporation can be defined as the process where liquid is converted to a gaseous state through wind and air temperature changes.

An increase of 10 degrees celsius will double the rate of evaporation. Humidity of surrounding air will influence evaporation because dry air will absorb more water.

A simple way to measure your evaporation is to:

• Mark pool water level inside skimmer box while pump is off
• Place near full bucket of water beside pool and mark water level inside bucket
• Compare water level drop between the pool and the bucket over a 24 hour period
• If the level in the pool drops more than the bucket, your pool has a leak
